What happens during your appointment

Your session begins with a thorough consultation to discuss your desired shade, placement, maintenance level and hair history. The team will assess your hair condition and explain what is achievable in one visit or whether gradual lightening is the safest route.

• Hair is sectioned and foils are applied throughout the entire head, with lightener or colour painted onto selected strands for even lift and dimension
• Foils are processed, then removed and rinsed; a toner or gloss refines the highlight colour and neutralises any warmth
• A root blend (typically a demi-permanent or permanent shade close to your natural colour) is applied at the roots and feathered into the lightened sections to create the melt effect
• The service finishes with a professional blow-dry and styling, and you can add a precision cut to remove dry ends and enhance your new colour

Expect to be in the salon for around two to three hours, depending on hair length, thickness and starting colour.

Who this service suits

Colour melt with full head foils is ideal if you want dimensional, natural-looking colour with softer, less frequent maintenance than traditional highlights. Because the root area is blended rather than taken solidly to the scalp, regrowth is gradual and many clients comfortably stretch maintenance to eight to twelve weeks.

This service works well for most hair types and textures, but very compromised or over-processed hair may need rebuilding treatments first or may not safely reach very light tones in one session. Aftercare and maintenance

Freshly lightened hair needs a little extra care to stay vibrant and healthy. Use sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, avoid very hot water, and limit frequent washing to reduce fading and dryness.

• Wait about 72 hours before your first wash so colour molecules can fully settle
• Minimise heat styling, always use a heat protectant, and avoid chlorinated pools and excessive sun exposure, especially in the first week
• Regular hydrating masks, leave-ins and UV-protective products help maintain shine and reduce dryness in lightened hair
• Maintenance appointments typically include partial foils or root touch-ups plus a gloss or toner to refresh the melt and keep brassiness under control
