What happens during your appointment

Your colourist will begin with a consultation to understand your base colour, desired brightness, and how the highlights should blend with your natural tone. The process includes:

• Sectioning the top of your head into a T-shape: hairline, main parting, and crown
• Weaving or slicing fine sections of hair and placing them into foils with lightener or tint
• Monitoring each foil individually as processing times vary across the scalp
• Rinsing, shampooing, and applying a toner or gloss to refine the shade and add shine
• Blow-drying to show the finished result

The whole service takes 90 to 105 minutes and costs £76. Because foils are concentrated on the top and front, placement and saturation are controlled carefully to avoid bleed lines and deliver even lift.

Who T-bar highlights suit

This service works well if you want brightness around your face and parting without colouring your whole head. It's particularly useful for:

• Refreshing regrowth if you already have highlights and want to extend time between full services
• Introducing colour gently with a subtle, natural result that grows out softly
• Brightening the most visible sections without the commitment or maintenance of half or full-head foils

If you want significant lightness through the sides and underneath, or if your hair is very thick or dark and you're aiming for an all-over lighter look, a half-head or full-head foil service will give better balance and coverage. Your stylist will guide you during consultation.

Aftercare and maintenance

To keep your highlights looking fresh and your hair feeling healthy:

• Use sulfate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner to protect tone and condition
• Apply heat protectant before styling and limit high-heat tools where possible
• Use a purple or silver shampoo occasionally to reduce brassiness, especially around the hairline where sun and heat exposure are highest
• Book a refresh appointment every 6 to 10 weeks, depending on how quickly your hair grows and how visible you want regrowth to be
